Le Parker Meridien Goes Ergonomic
***
Midtown Property Loses Tchotchkes For Increased Personal Space;
Less Stressful On Body And Mind
New York, NY – A hotel room that is well lit, ergonomic, stylish yet functional? What was thought to be nonexistent, Le Parker Meridien has created. They have removed the clutter that has become the norm in the hotel industry freeing up desktops, vanities and side tables. The new clutter free, ergonomic rooms conform to the guest not the other way around. Every detail has been reconsidered from the entertainment unit and the lighting to the workstation and bathroom vanity. Style and function are in, hip and dysfunctional are out.
The MCCARTAN design group of San Francisco, lead by Colum McCartan, has developed a design scheme that is both soothing to the body and the mind. Each room has been outfitted with an average of 11 individually controlled lighting fixtures for optimum illumination in the appropriate area. Bedside, wall-mounted lights can be manipulated to shine directly where you need it, for whatever reading position the guest is in. These fixtures also feature concentrated, low-level light, guaranteed not to disturb a sleeping partner.
For guests that are tired of eating in bed while juggling a laptop, Le Parker Meridien offers 6-foot Long workstations large enough for a brief case, computer and dinner. Sophisticated Aeron™chairs distribute weight evenly and provide support in all the right places. Over 250 suites feature a versatile circular table at the end of the desk that adds additional space for meeting or dining.
Guests will never strain to watch their favorite television show again. Each room features an eight-foot tall cherry wood revolving cabinet, housing a 32” television, DVD with CD component and VCP. The cabinet swivels 180 degrees for optimum viewing throughout the room. In suites, the cabinet swivels between the living and sleeping areas providing a wall between the two. The use of natural wood is carried over into the bathroom where cedar shelves hold towels and add a sauna like atmosphere to the room.
Just when you thought there wasn’t anything else to reconsider, MCCARTAN has added other features that guests never knew they needed but won’t be able to live without. Guests can create the perfect temperature with user friendly, digital thermostats and windows that open allowing in as much or little of the New York experience as they want. Suites feature a roll away luggage compartment to hide luggage that usually clutters the bottom of the closet. Le Parker Meridien wants guests to never move a muscle while relaxing in bed. Reach-in, bedside tables offer ultimate accessibility allowing guests to add or remove items from the drawer at will. The addition of cordless phones ensures that guests will not have to lunge for the phone again.
Most of the furniture and lighting fixtures were custom designed by MCCARTAN and are for sale through the hotel.
