LE PARKER MERIDIEN REPLACES HOTEL

UNIFORMS WITH NEW THREADS BY STAN HERMAN

Designer’s First New York Hotel Collection Well Suited For

The Hotel’s Entertainment Industry Clientele

New York, NY 10/17/99 – Stan Herman, the number-one uniform designer in the world, has created a new attitude for the staff of Le Parker Meridien.  Lobby and front desk attendants, doormen and concierges now sport stylish ensembles of double-breasted sport jackets in textured black and taupe over black pants. The shirts of ecru have matching high-sheen ties.  The new look is well suited for the hotel’s cosmopolitan clientele.

“The complete look is friendly and approachable, yet distinctive. A dressed down style with dressed up attitude,” said designer Stan Herman.

The fashionable new threads are in keeping with the redesign the hotel is currently undergoing. “We approached Stan because he is an amazing designer who not only understands style but the necessary function of clothing.  He was able to embrace and define the concept of the hotel’s new image and translate it into a ‘non-uniform’ uniform,” said General Manager Steven Pipes.

Working from renovation design boards, Herman developed pieces that convey dressing down with style, which highlighted Le Parker Meridien’s image as an uptown hotel with a downtown attitude.

“Hotel uniforms are the secret ingredient that gives a hotel its attitude.  If the personnel look good and feel good, chances are your stay will be a good one.

I believe the Parker Meridien has those ingredients,’ said Herman.

When asked about his first New York hotel design experience Herman said,

“It’s about time someone asked me.”
